So there is this girl that I really like and she is really smart and she likes math, science and other nerdy stuff and she is pretty. Im trying to impress her. When she was at the library I sat at the same table as her and pretended to read an encyclopedia. Then I got my friend to make a fake conversation with me in front of her and I got him to ask me complicated math questions and I would say the answers. Of course I had already memorized all the answers from a cheat sheet beforehand. I dont think those things worked. Next i'm going to pretend I have a deep interest in philosophy. Im not sure if that will impress her. Do any of you have any advice on what I should do now?

um try NOT any half assed attempt to impress her with a facade that will crumble at the slightest inquiry? Why don't you see if you have any legitimate interests in common or ask her to tutor you. Oh and actually speaking to her might help.

dont try to beat her in being smart. be nice, funny, and ask her to help you in school or HW. that way youll be around her. and be nice to other people. shell see that. and dont be too rowdy and no showing off. finally, compliment her but not too much, shell freak out if you do it too much. hope i helped

yeah dude, dont try to act smart if you really aren't (no offense, I'm not saying you're dumb or anything.) Maybe you could try a different approach. People already suggested that you ask her for tutoring....Maybe you could ask her for homework help or something?

You mentioned trying to pretend to study philosophy; Maybe you should just read up on lots of different philosophers and their beliefs. I used to know almost nothing about philosophy, but when I joined the speech team, I had to do a performance that had lots of jokes about philosophers and things like that, and all I did was google their names and I found out tons of stuff that makes me sound extra smart when I tell people about it. I didn't even have to do a lot of reading.
